A song popped into my head the other day that I've heard on the radio in the past but never really identified. I think it's Bono based on how I hear the part I remember in my head, and it sounds like he's saying "I'm one awayyyyyy" or "Run awayyyyyyy" and he repeats it once or twice. Not enough info for Google to help me so hoping a U2 fan can nail it.

probably not, but...

Tell everybody I'm on my way
New friends and new places to see
With blue skies ahead, yes I'm on my way
And there's no where else that I'd rather be

Tell everybody I'm on my way
And I'm loving every step I take
With the sun beatin' down, yes I'm on my way
And I can't keep this smile off my face

'Cause there's nothing like seein' each other again
No matter what the distance between
And the stories that we tell will make you smile
Oh it really lifts my heart

So tell 'em all I'm on my way
New friends and new places to see
And to sleep under the stars, who could ask for more
With the moon keeping watch over me

Not the snow not the rain can change my mind
The sun will come out wait and see
And the feeling of the wind in your face can lift your heart
Oh, there's no where I would rather be

'Cause I'm on my way now
Well and true, I'm on my way now

I'm on my way now
I'm on my way now
I'm on my way now

Tell everybody I'm on my way
And I just can't wait to be there
With blue skies ahead yes I'm on my way
And nothing but good times to share

So, tell everybody I'm on my way
And I just can't wait to be home
With the sun beatin' down yes I'm on my way
And nothing but good times to show

I'm on my way
Yes, I'm on my way

Yes! That's the one! So he's saying "wide awake" at the end, that's what I remember most just missed the words. But even when the song started and I heard the guitar it all came back to me. Thanks!

Forgiveness, please, but the album version Jules linked is "shit."

Here... This one is better.

Edit:
One of their underrated songs, for sure, but they have so many of them (even though I haven't really cared for their last two albums).

I loved the one before last, I can't get into the latest.

U2 changes enough from album to album that I generally try to listen at least twice before I judge. I didn't even like ATYCLB all that much the first time I listened, but I love it now (with the exception of two tracks I consistently skip).

Still, I just can't bring myself to listen to their last two albums no matter how much I want to like them.

I love everything on No Line on the Horizon up to Unknown Caller. The rest is okay. My favorite is still Pop -- the most divisive album but it's a masterpiece. All their 90s stuff is amazing. The post-Pop stuff I haven't loved as much.
