Need help identifying a RPG game/software company

Back in the mid 90s to 2001 or so a company based out of Madison, Wisconsin made these great RPG games. They were rather crude with their interface but were highly detailed & had several episodes. They originally started off with games just for Apple, but eventually released MS compatible versions. For the life of me I cant remember the name of the game or company-can anybody help?
