Need help identifying a plant

I was strolling through an asian grocery store the other day and at the check out counter they had this weird plat that was about 8" tall and the fruit on it looked like eggs...tiny white eggs. The "eggs" looked like the size that a finch would lay.
I asked the lady what it was and she said that it was an eggplant 😕

I know that eggplants are larger and dark purple.

Anyone see this plant before?

Actually it looked like a miniature tree with tiny eggs growing on it

It is eggplant. Not all are purple.
