So I went on a spree and bought to many things. I'm going to list exactly what I have, and maybe someone can suggest the CORRECT way of hooking it up. And not my ghetto rigged way. :)

Also I need some suggestions of okay 2.1 computer speakers and wireless bluetooth headphones for my computer.

Home Theater System:
Philips DVD Home Theater System DivX Ultra HTS6500/37
1x Standard Definition audio cable (red and white ends)
1x CVBS video cable

HDTV:
HP LC4276N
The link will take you to the 47" Model, but I really have the 42". They just don't have it listed anymore.
1x 6' HDMI cable.

Video Card:
MSI GeForce 8800GT OC 512mb
1x DVI->HDMI cable

PS3:
40 gig PS3. We all know what that is.

Problems:
1. The computer is connected to the TV via DVI->HDMI cable. Sound comes from computer speakers though and not TV.
2. The PS3 is connect to the TV via 6' HDMI cable. No real problem here.
3. The HTS is connected to the TV via SD (red/white) cable. I can't view the setup menu for the DVD player nor get DVD's to play because I don't know how to hook it up correctly.

What I want:
I want to be able to use 1 remote, even if I gotta buy a harmony remote to do everything with the system. I would like to be able to switch between sources (computer, DVD player, PS3, regular cable tv), adjust the volume, change channels, turn everything on and off and have sound from my computer to be played over the speakers (movie watching via dual-monitor) when that HDMI source is selected.

Is all this possible?

What chords / stuff will I need to order from monoprice?

What chords do I plug into which ports on which devices?

I know im kinda asking a lot from you guys, I thank everyone who can help me out.

The Red and white cables are purely audio. You at bare minimum need a composite video cable(yellow) connected from your home theater to your TV. I would recommend getting a HDMI cable and using that however because that is the only way your DVD player will upconvert.

Secondly, you don't get sound from your computer because you are outputting via the graphics card. You need a separate audio connection from your motherboard or sound card to handle audio. If you don't already have one, you should get a motherboard/sound card with a digital coax out. You will connect this to your receiver/dvd player.

The playstation 3 has HDMI and optical out. From the specs of your home theater it appears to have no optical in. If this is true you have two options. Input the audio to your TV. If your TV has a digital coax out you might be able to connect that to your receiver/dvd player and get some form of audio from your PS3. Otherwise you need to get a optical to digital coax converter from monoprice AND a digital coax switch because your dvd/receiver only has 1 digital coax input.

Lastly, it's spelled "cords" not "chords". Chords are used in music.

Okay, looked up what all these actually look like and checked to see if I could hook it up.

I have 2 cords coming from my TV that are the red and white ones hooked to the reciever (basic audio cables). They are hooked up to the back of the TV and arn't hooked into any of source inputs. This is giving me audio through the HTS while watching regular TV.

I have the PS3 hooked to the TV through HDMI cable. Again, this is letting sound from the PS3 come through the HTS.

I'm going to order a Digital coaxial cord to hook up to the system through my mobo (yeah, it has one) to get sound from movies.

So I guess at this point I am getting sound from all sources needed, but is this going to get me the best sound quality with this system?

I'm going to order all of these to try and get the best out of what I got.
HDMI 6ft 28AWG
RCA 6ft 22AWG
12ft Audio Coaxial Cable

What ya think?

Right now your audio is going from your PS3 to your TV digitally. Then it is being converted to analog and sent to your receiver.

Ideally you would connect to the receiver with a digital connection but that is an issue because your receiver does not have optical ins.

Your setup currently is therefore ok. However, I would pick the device I care about sound quality the most with and connect that one digitally. Decide whether TV, PS3 or PC audio is the most important. If you were to decide that the TV or PS3 were the most important you would need the optical to digital coax converter from monoprice.

As a note, even if you get a harmony remote, it most likely will not work w/ your PS3. The PS3 uses bluetooth technology to transmit the signal from the controller. 99% of remotes out there (including all Harmony's) use IR. I have read that you can get a USB IR adapter for the PS3, but I don't personally know anyone who has used it.

Other than that, what has been said is good advice.
