Tried posting in mobo forum first, no answers...

I have the Extreme Series Bad Axe 2 mobo mounted in a Thermaltake Armor. The firewire cable on the Armor is split into individual pin connectors. However, it has a white +12v pin connector labeled VP, which splits to a second connector also labeled VP. Then there is a black connector labeled VG, which also splits to a second connector labeled VG. None of the other connectors split.

Also, the mobo has TPA1 and TPA2, while the cable has TPA and TPB.

So, it's just a little bit confusing...wanna get it right the first time

I'm making an assumption on how the cable is to connect to the mobo pins:

Mobo layout:
TPA1+ (1/2) TPA1-
Ground (3/4) Ground
TPA2+ (5/6) TPA2-
+12v (7/8) +12v
(no pin) (*/10) Ground

Cable:
TPA+ (Blue) - TPA- (Orange)
VG (Black) - split VG (Black)
TPB+ (Green) - TPB- (Red)
VP (White) - split VP (White)
(no pin) - Ground (Black)

Does this sound right? TIA

Match with corresponding pins found in the mobo. Hope pic helps.

Yup, saw that in my Armor manual. It's different labeling of the pins than the mobo manual, which is why I started the thread. There was an issue a couple of years ago about Thermaltake killing components on first power cycle with Firewire, and while highly unlikely this would happen with split connectors and correctly connecting them, I just wanted to be sure this was the correct connections.

And thanks ViRGE.
