Need help: Home Video Wireless Solution

ajaju

Senior member

I intend to setup a wireless connection between my desktop computer and my home entertainment center (TV/DVD/Audio).
Can somebody kindly guide me to a URL/FAQs/FORUM .. or any information that will be relevant to a TOTAL newbie to get started in this area.
Thanks for all the help
P.S. I sincerely hope this is in accordance

You would be better off just getting a DVD player if you want good quality video.

For low quality audio and/or video there are quite a few wireless A/V systems available. I think Radio Shack has a similar product that runs over phone lines, if you have phone jacks available.

hmmm... thanks for the interesting info.

RIght now I am using a S-vid cable from my TV to desktop and ...since I am planning to move the desktop to a different floor... the wired option seemed impractical.

For some reason I thought that i could use some sort of wireless option... and had some notions of watching home videos and family pictures on a big screen TV.

yep... i saw them... but who would attest the quality issue?

I can always buy it and if it doesnt work... I have a 30day money back gaurantee or something... but want to be educated before I plunge.

I have seen quality on a wireless video setup made by Terk the Wavemaster 20, and it had interference, from a room taht was bout 20 feet away. could have been the that specific unit but i am not sure.

Edit: the picture was watchable but the quality was noticible poorer
