I feal so stupid 🙁 I recently installed Kazaa, which sticks 2 icons on your desktop. I was curious about one of them "Free trip to hawaii!" and clicked just to see what sort of scam it was. It brought me to a 404 page, but since then I have been getting popups on pages that I *KNOW* shouldn't have any, like google.com and forums.anandtech.com. It did something to internet explorer, but I have no clue what. Anyone have any ideas on how to feret out whatever plugin it installed?

well not exactly a hardware question .. well i dont know for a fact it comes from kazaa, but it doesnt surprise me, i wouldnt use it .. do a search for a program called adaware, use that, and have you uninstalled kazaa? ..

Adaware is good, BUT, the there are some spyware programs that edit your registry in Kazaa. After you run adaware, DO NOT remove the 2 or 3 Cydoor components because Kazaa will not run after this. You will need to re-download it if you get rid of them. Sucks I know. Also, be careful when installing Kazaa and only select what you need. DO NOT download webhancer or comet cursor or the other crap they offer. Just what Kazaa needs to run, otherwise that crap will suck up your resources.
