Need help getting rid of 2000 choices.......

I had done a dual boot on my machine with ME and 2000 pro. Like an idiot I suppose, instead of deleting the 2000 partition with a boot disk I formatted the drive through ME. Now each time I start up I still receive the choice to boot up to 2000 or Microsoft Windows. How do I get rid of this? I am anxious to get my copy of XP on that partition so I can try it out but I don't want to do that until I can figure this out. Ideas anyone?

i know under 2000 or xp, you can disable the boot menu under system/advanced (winkey + puase/break) and then startup and recovery, but it has been so long since i used me, i am not sure if the same option is in the same place...

I think I understand what you mean but I'm not sure why. So you are giving up on 2000 and going back to ME? 🙂

That's crazy!! Hehe, but if you want to get rid of the 2000 boot loader, use the command

fdisk /mbr

in WindowsME to rewrite the master boot record and take off Windows 2000's boot option.

silver <-- still recommends 2k

No silver my friend, I am not getting rid of 2000 for ME but getting rid of 2000 for XP. I may not have made that clear in the first post. I just never use 2000 because I have actually had no problems whatsoever out of ME and want to replace 2000 with XP so that I can fool around with it.
