I just got my gainward gf3 ti450 golden sample. After lots of testing, the sweet spot seems to be 230/540. I installed the latest det 23.11. I also have a totally clean winxp pro install. I have the nvmax set to my personal best performance/quality setting with fsaa/anisoptric disabled. I have it on a amd athlon 1.3 ghz on az11e kt-133 with 386 mb sdram. In ut, i get like 35 fps average when semi intense fighting with 16 bots in ctf maps @ 1280x1024 x32 bpp. In giants, i get only 40 fps average, drops as low as 28 when for example fighting or smoke or buildings n some sun glare, but goes as high as 83 frames when just the sky, no sun, n reg landscape. RTCW gets like only 75 fps average at 1280x1024 x 32bpp. Basically, it doesn't seem as good as i heard the hype to be :frown: Could it be something off set or is it supposed to be like that, cause i was hoping 1600 x1200 x32 bpp gaming at about 80 or 90 fps average.

I have the gf3 Ti450 running at 240/500 on a 1.4GHz Athlon/AK31A setup w/ 1GB RAM and WinXP. Using 22.50 drivers (the 23.xx's leave vsync on no matter what under D3D) I get about 90fps in UT @ 1600x1200x32 in fairly heavy fighting, and it never drops below about 80fps, ever. So it seems something is wrong with your setup.

Sup man, I had the same problem after switching to XP Pro. My Ti500 ran fine under ME but after switching it turned to crap. Supposedly there's a refresh problem in XP or something like that, or maybe its just for nvidia cards. Anyways, I guess windows has a default refresh rate of 60 and that lowers your FPS. You can download a fix here.. Just download it and set it to the max refresh your monitor/card can handle and everything will be fine. Enjoy.

Already have that installed :( That isn't the problem i have. Well, i tried everything in my mobo bios. I wonder wut the problem is. I heard that someone had piss pour performance like me, but it was the agp aperture size at 64 mb that caused his problems, but i tried that too already. I tried the 22.80 now and they seem not to do any thing either. My problems are
Giants v1.4 - 40 fps average @ 1280x1024x32bpp
UT 70 fps average, but goes as low as 28 fps last sec when fighting @ 1280x1024x32 bpp
3dmark 2k1 - 6300 score
It seems that the ogl games are good enough - rtcw got 90 fps average at 1600 x 1200 x32 bpp. But i really feel pissed paying $190 (cause of tax) and getting this performance, there must be a solution.

I use NVMAX and the refresh rate fix utility. Have sideband addressing enabled, fast writes disabled.

AGP aperture set to 256MB (I have a gig of RAM), video BIOS shadowing and video memory caching disabled. ACPI disabled.

Using the native XP VIA drivers, no patches or fixes installed. Nvidia 22.50 drivers. No Gainward software installed.

AHHHHH! omg is it slow, i just played 16 bot November ctf at 1280x1024x32bpp, the results - 31.5 fps min, 86.6 max, 57.2 avg. I also disabled acpi, that didn't help. My highest agp setting is 128, but i think 256 mite be the best for me. THis is bull, 1600x1200x32bpp is much worse. I also tried removing my sound card to see if that is the problem, but that didn't help as well. Wut the hell is the problem :|
