Alright, heres the basic premise. I have 1/2 inch iron pipes to which I need to attach a fan or some kind of device to either pull air from it or blow air through it. The more air the better. The fan or device cant be insanely loud either. I need any and all ideas that may come to mind. Lets see what you'all come up with.

The air goes through the pipes? or just attached to them? Dimensions of pipes? (inner/outer diameters)

Budget?

Nope, no sexual pleasures being derived from this contraption.

The pipes are 1/2 inch black iron pipes you can find in home depot or lowes, threaded on the ends. The air would either have to blow air through them..or draw air out from them.

Vacuum cleaner would be too loud and too inefficient. Its gotta run for a few hours if possible.

Not cooling lights, but drawing hot air from them. The idea is to see how much heat we can pull from different things that give off heat, without pulling the "badness" of the heat (ie smoke or chemicals.)

My first thoughts including using a motor with a fan used for model airplanes to make em fly, those might move air and be small enough. Or some kind of pump for blowing air into balloons, but those might be really loud.

well... uh... everytime ive seen someone drawing hot air from lights they used high-powered exhaust fans suspended from the ceiling (quiet) and vent ducting. the light balasts had ports for the venting.

I need to be able to pull the air from through the pipes, so if its gonna be an exhaust type fan, Id have to be able to jimmy rig it to the pipes somehow.

lol well 1/2 inch pipes are a lil too small to take hot air out, for u to find a fan that is that small with power to make a difference i dunno. the only suggestion take one of those tiny motors for R/C cars they sell in radioshack of w/e crappy electronic store they have where u live and try to find a small enough propeller to spin inside the pipe.

The fan doesnt have be inside the pipe itself. Its just gotta be small enough so that I can rig it onto the end of the pipe somehow and not look and be completely out of balance. But yeah, some small motor with some kind of prop might be the best thing.

Whirlwind 3000 RC Helicopter the engine inside these things is super powerful try those. they cost around 15 bucks, the only thing is that those helicopters are super fun so you might not wanna break it after you play with it.
