Need Help From Excel Gurus

I want to get the average of the data from Jan 2001 - Dec 2008. Can someone help me figure it out and explain how I would go about calculating it using Excel. There is a link to download the data just above the table. I hear the program is swell.

Yes, but only in months that are not January (and only if one has excel set up to treats those blank spaces as 0)
