This is in regard to cable internet access via charter@home. My city has finally finsihed the to upgrade to fiber optics.

My question is how soon will it take to make the cable network Internet ready? I been living in 56K hell to long everytime I call those morons at charter and I never get a straight answer !!

Please someone who is familiar with charter or this specific problem in general throw me a bone here !! I am faoming at the mouth to get broadband!!

Where do you live? An alternative that I use is Sprint's Wireless Broadband. Runs me $45/mo, and gives me 700+ (I've seen 2M) Kbps
download speeds. And doesn't rely on our Baby Bell, (Nicknamed QWorst for good reason), or on Adelphia/Century@Home, which are currently in the process of laying fiber in our subdivision, and not expected to lite up for another 1.5+ year....

If the fiber optics are done they should start installing certain areas in your town soon. So depending on where they start you could get cable by the end of the month or end of the summer. Just call them every week or so to ask if they have started installing yet. I would about twice a month even though I was told 4 months for my area. After one month one day I called and they said that I they are installing in my area and I could make an appointment. 3 weeks after that I was surfing broadband 3 months sooner then I was told before.
