Need help formating SATA hardrive

I am running a 3200 A64 on the Aopen AK86-L mobo (rest of specs in sig). My hardrive is a 36gig raptor, when I go to run windows from the cd to format it says it can't find my hardrive. I press F6 during setup to load the SATA drivers but it still wont find my hardrive. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Does your motherboard's SATA boot BIOS recognize the drive? You should see the drive's make/model displayed during some phase of the boot cycle if so.

In your BIOS can you see the HDD? Is it on a Native SATA controller, if not do you have the controller enabled in the BIOS?
