hey,

I've been looking all day for information on the hardware and composition of the network of E*Trade, Datek, Ameritrade, etc. and I can't find anything. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Google isn't helping much.
 
Are you looking for the design of these companys network, like backbone routers and such? If so, GL on finding this information, i am sure its highly secure. Can you tell us why on these specific networks? Its easier to find information on your schools network, or a large provider. Sorry if i wasnt any help...
 
no, I'm doing a term paper on online stock trading for telecom. I figured that I would toss in some of this information as well as the information I'm putting in about the business aspect of it; but what I'm finding that what you said is about right, and this information is hard to come by.
 
Not hard - impossible. Large companies whose livelihood is online will not give you any specific information on their systems. The first solid defense to hackers is defense through obscurity.
