I bought a sata hard drive and just finished building a computer. In bios the computer recognizes the 1 sata hard drive. But when i try to install the operating system, it says "setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer" Why wont it recogonize it. Anyone know what is the matter? and how do i fix this problem. thanks already

have you installed the drivers for SATA? Windows doesn't have them IIRC...

Use your supplied SATA floppy (should come with the mobo), press F6 during the start of the Windows install when it asks for any RAID/SCSI controllers, install the drivers and it should be picked up.

You have to hit F6 and use the floppy disc your drive came with. Or if your drive didn't come with a floppy with the drivers on them you will have to create one. Either that or slipstream the drivers onto a Windows installation CD.
