NEED HELP FOR EPOX 8KHA+ ERROR CODE 26

my friend's is not working. he gets error code "26" when he tries to boot up. he's tried different ram dimms (256 mb centon & 512 basic mushkin), the chip (1800xp) is new, as is the motherboard. we've tried different video cards, power supplies and 2 different 8kha+ motherboards but the error code remains the same. any ideas?
 
The fact that the error code persists between two motherboards suggests that it's being caused by another component present in both test setups. The manual doesn't have any light to shed on this error code, unfortunately. Could you try the AthlonXP in a different motherboard besides the two 8KHA+'s to see if it works? It's the only thing you haven't tried two of yet, sounds like, so it could be the problem.
