Need help for Asus G53sw-xn1 touch pad dead.

So I have an Asus G53sw-xn1 and I installed a 2nd hard drive. Everything is fine except the touch pad, led indicator lights, and it wont go into standby mode when i close the lid. So to put the hard drive in I have to take the keyboard and touchpad off to open the bottom of the laptop. I am unsure if I somehow damaged the ribbon when I reinstalled it. I dont have time to send it in for RMA right now either. And I have been seeing people say something about if you have taken the ribbon out of the computer that it could have been demagnitized and take a magnet to the computer. I cannot find any information on this online. Please Please Please help!!!!! :'(
