ok i have a k7s5a and want to flash the bio to the newest version. i follow the directions on the site and at the a prompt

i typed

a:\> aminf333 010724.WROM

Now after that, the online instructions tells me that all i have ot do is press enter, but after i typed in the initial command, a whole menu of options comes up but it doesn't allow me to pick from the menu ,insted, the a:\> appears again.

any ideas?

for some reason it says WROM. I downloaded the file off the ECS site and its a WROM. Maybe ECS screwed up?

Besides, a 01... revision hardly is the latest. 2002/10/29 is the latest, named 021029s.rom

Are you using a standard win9x bootdisk to get to the DOS prompt? If your HDD is formated in FAT, try flashing from there. Oh and if you have an early v1.0 board it might fail to POST consistently with a BIOS version late than 01/11/21(mine had that problem).

I am running window xp using NTFS file system. I did unpack the exe into a .rom file. I created my disk by going into mycomputer, then right clicking the A: drive, then i selected create boot disk. Anyone had a similar problem? The reason that i am flashing the bios is because i am not sure what is causing the computer not being able to perform in counterstrke. I get REALLY REALLY choppy graphics, so bad that i can't even play it.

I am running a 1ghz t-bird with 512ddr and a Radeon 8500. I used to have the a7a266 moterboard and decided to switch to this board. Anyone know why my system can't get counterstrike to run smoothly? I used the same exact system except the motherboard before and i could run CS PERFECT!

thanks

Put the bios file and flash utility on your floppy boot disk you made. Then do what you did at the prompt type
a:\aminf333 bios.rom (bios is your bios name). After you unpack the download you can rename the bios file. I usually use bios1.rom. Easy to remember when flashing instead of the numbers most mb uses.

Go to ECS forum at OCWorkbench.com
Chap called "Rottwielly2002" has created a bootable cd that you can download that reduces bios flashing to childs play
