Hey Guys
I need help to flash my mobo bios. I have the Abit BH6 (ver.1.01) not the ver.1.1
I went to the Abits website and Dl, the file
for my version which I believe is file BH6SS
and then opened it up in the directory that I had Dl it into.

Then I put the newly extracted file which is called BH6_SS.bin into a diskette along with my "systems files" and a utility called
Awdflash then booted up from my "A" drive

And here is where I don't get my objective completed...need help...as there is not a good write up to do this.

Although I did print out a few pages that I thought would help me, but it didn't ;)

I flashed my bios last year and it was a no brainer, what happened to me

P.S. Abit's website truly sucks, its painfully slowwwwwwwwwwwwww !!!!

Toothpick...really out

You should be able to just type awdflash at the a: prompt and then follow the onscreen instructions.

Yeah, but when I do that i then get a dialog box that asks me for what file and then I type in the name of the "bin" file and then hit the enter key and then it seems to start but nothing actually happens ?????

Toothpick, send me an email and I'll get back to you w/ flashing instructions, along w/ a file that seems to be harder to find on Abit's website these days (man that site is slow lately <g>) - it's called abitfae.bat. This batch file simplifies flashing. I've modified it (gee, that sounds real technical, doesn't it? Trust me, it isn't.) to allow saving of your old BIOS file.

Hmmm not to sound stupid but you have to write the hole path when it asks for the destination file. I.e. if the bin file is BH6_SS.bin and it's on the floppy disk then you should write: 'A:\BH6_SS.bin'

Have you done that????

AoD ;)

Toothpick, I can't send you an email because you don't have your profile enabled. That said, if you read my previous post, I suggested you send me an email so that I could respond (rag mode off <g>).

So, send me an email, I'll send you a reply w/ instructions right off the Abit website (hard to find these days, given the difficulty getting on Abit's site recently). Along w/ the instructions I'll send you two flashing batch files (the original one that doesn't give you the option to save your current BIOS file, and one I modified that gives you that option), the most current flash utility, and the SS BIOS self-extracting file.

Hi Jeff
Sorry for the confusion, but I had sent you two emails. I clicked on your profile and then clicked on your email address :)

Anyway, I have now enabled my profile ...
