need help flashing bios on A7V

i have tried 2 times to flash to the new fixed 1006 bios and get the same results both times: screwed up system. i flash it and turn computer off then restart and go into bios to load defaults and then restart again. that is when the fun starts. it stops at memory test and just sets there. i then turn computer off and clear cmos by touching the 2 solder points by battery and restart and get into bios and change my settings then save and exit it only this time it will not load windows, just sets there after it detects the ultra 100 channel. i then have to clear cmos again and let it go to same point again and set there. i called asus and they was no help, said they hadn't fully tested it yet!!!! i did discover by accident that if i leave floppy in it will boot to that and allow me to reflash back to my emergency bios 1004D that i keep in separate partition on hard drive for just such events. what am i doing wrong? i do have a revision 1 stick of mushkin memory installed and seem to remember a post here about mushkin causing trouble on this bios. is that the culprit? BTW i am flashing with asus update, could that be the cause? thanx for any input into this by anybody
