need help fixing static noise

I have onboard sound, which produces some annoying static noise from the right speaker, in win xp, i simply mute Aux or microphone to fix it, but i cant find such options in vista. and also does nvidia stop making sound drivers for their nforce boards, seems vista is using realtek drivers and software for it
