hey all

can someone help me..

well i have installed a PCI NIC and got all the software installed, but I can not see the other networks on the '98 platform. i am also n 98, but when i pull up network neighborhood, i keep getting the flashlight searching for something.. but does find it eventually, after 5 mins or so.. .. i did not change any settings at all, i simply installed the drivers and protocols for file sharing and IPX for games..

is there a program or a solution that wipes out my entire network components cleanly so i can start over w/out formatting my drive..

How are the computers connected? Is this a Lan or just a home network?
IF it's a home network is it more than one computer? Is there a hub/switch involved? Need more info.

Try adding a second protocol. If you are using TCPIP, make sure they are both in the same subnet and with consecutive (not exact) IP address. xxx.xxx.xxx.1 and xxx.xxx.xxx.2
Most modern games require TCPIP to play games. Diablo1 in the most recent game that I play with still requires the old IPX protocol.

yes, it is a home lan, with rj-45 wires connected to a 10/100 mps hub. wierd.. that i can see my computer now since no other computer is on, but when one is on, i can not search through the network.
