I originally RMAed my 6600GT for instability a default clocks, and the one I got back was not DOA per se, but effectively useless. In a couple different systems, the image was just a garbled mess, and I haven't been able to figure out what's wrong with this. Both PSUs should have been sufficient for it, so I'm not really worried about the rest of my systems. Any ideas on how to go about fixing this?

Try it in a friends system or get a new PSU. You would be surprised how fast these things die or start flaking out. I went through 6 PSU in 3 years. It looks like my current one is starting to act up again and I don't even stress the system.

I bought the good brands too, prices ranges from $40-80. The current $40 actually lasted the longest. The $80 one lasted less than 2 months.

When in doubt, it's the PSU. Even if you just bought it. I had one being flaky one day 1.

whoa, what brand psu's are you using peachee? it sounds like something is seriously wrong :)

to the OP: It sounds like you got a dead card back. If you ran it on a fortron 450w and it still produced garbage output, I would say it's dead. You can try running it in a few more systems and see what happens, but my money is on it being a dead card.

Actually, the Fortron 450W is for my main system, but I have tested with a Thermaltake 420W (not terrible, at least), my friend's mid-ranged Antec, and a couple generics (all with two different socket A systems).
