i say get the antec sonata case because it is super quiet, super stylish, and has great airflow. the 380W psu that comes wtih it is very great quality. as for a mobo, i'm not the guy to ask for since i'm an amd fan. :)

I have a Sonata, and like it very much. If you have a bigger budget (which you appear to have), go for something like a lian-li or a coolermaser.

Sonata. I have one ofr my P4.

I'm also happy with my Asus P4C800E motherboard, but there are much cheaper motherboards out there.

Samsung hard drives are cheap, quiet, and some models have 8 MB cache and 3-year warranty.

okay i bought a Sonata case, now, what would be the best motherboard to get for my setup? The Asus P4C800E that DaveSimmons recommended was a little bit pricey, but if thats the best one to get I guess I'll get it.

thanks guys

Any quality board with the 865PE or 875 chipset should do. Asus, Abit, Epox. The anandtech mid-range buyers guide seems to like the Asus P4P800. Also, you might want to consider getting and extra 120mm fan for you sonata, it only comes with one on the back, not one for the intake.
