I need a Socket 370 (PIII) compatible HSF that has a small footprint. When I say small footprint, I'm talking about something as small as the socket and 2mm extra room max on each side. It'll have to be able to keep a 933mhz cDo PIII cooled and overall, be relatively small considering the size limitiation. Using a ruler, it's width can only be 58mm max, and it's length, can be 65mm max, while the height can be as tall as it wants.

Why such a small footprint.

I had to work on a newer Compaq Presario 5000 today for a friend. I noticed that on his Celeron 800, there was a Foxconn HSF. It was very small, to say the least. It was pretty much the same size as the socket 370 was. I'd guess it was.....1.25"-1.5" high. One of the smallest, other than my 486, that I've seen recently.

I'll post a link in here if I find one.

Good luck!

The reason why I need a HSF with such a small footprint is because I'm a server MB and there's very little room around the socket because of the capacitors. I was one of the many who jumped on the Gateway 6400 deal.

If nothing else, the stock Intel units pretty much have to fit. The late model fc-pga models are actually pretty good, and shouldn't be hard to find at all. Check the auction sites or post in the fs/ft section of this forum.

Are you sure that a 60mm square unit won't fit? That's about as standard as white bread, and would allow for, say, an Alpha 6035....
