Hey everyone, my friend just burnt out her motherboard and is desparate need for a new one. Unfotunately, it seems incredibly difficult to find Slot 1 motherboards for her processor. She has a Pentium III-850MHz slot 1 processor. Does anyone know a place that sells a motherboard that supports that kind of processor? I'm looking more for speed and price rather than features or overclockability. Also, it'll need an AGP slot. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I still see Tyan mobos with slot+socket listed at newegg and/or google. Other choice would be to sell the 850e (check eBay selling prices) and get an Asus TUSL2-C + Celeron 1.2a for about $160 from newegg (less whatever the 850 brings).

[edit] Also some used ones in FS/FT forums here, under $50 -- Abit BE6-II and BF6 are good ones. I have a spare BF6 myself but haven't had time to find out whether the cold boot problem it has is caused by the mobo or the old Maxtor drive I used with it.

The only new ones I still see once in awhile are the Tyan 400's which I once owned. Good stable mb with very little overclocking features but has both socket 370 and slot 1 onboard. The slot 1 I used for over 3 years was an aopen ax6bc which you can find on the used boards once in awhile. Used is your best bet

SeeEt, if your friend absolutely still needs a slot 1 board and y'all can't find one anywhere, LMK and I may be able to hook you up.
