About 6 months ago, we finally got a flat screen TV. There are numerous times I want to watch various shows I have archived (or that I download/stream, like "Star Trek Continues") I wanted to find a media player, but the Roku 3 I have will only play certain file formats, and I was always having to convert them first before watching.
I ended up buying a tiny linux based media player that got really good reviews, called "1080p HD Media Player". It doesn't seem to have a brand name or anything, but it was highly regarded by users, and they said it would play anything, so I bought one. I was actually pretty impressed, it DID play anything! It also resumes where you leave off watching a show.
However, when my daughter had a sleepover last week, the remote went missing. Thankfully, it has basic control buttons on top of the unit, so it is not completely useless. However, I'd really like to find a replacement remote. The manual doesn't give any details about the remote. The only thing I know is that you have to point the remote right at the unit for it to register - you can't be off by 15 degrees or anything like that. I think this means that it is a infrared remote, and not rf, due to its behavior.
I've found other players that appear to be exactly the same unit, but using different remotes, so there are evidently several remotes that will work with this thing. However, I can't seem to find anyone selling replacements! On the bottom of the unit itself, it says "HD 3D Media Player", and on the box it says "Full HDMI Player", while on the manual it says "1080P HD-Media Player". The remote was actually my only complaint about the unit - it was a tiny one that used a watch battery. The buttons for navigating were a bit too small for my taste, so if I could find a cheap remote with larger navigation buttons (that will actually work with this thing!), then it would be fantastic!
I'm hoping that someone out there might be able to suggest a place that sells a replacement remote that might work with this thing?
Here's the original (the one I have)

Thanks for any help!
