Need help finding best settings for my speaker setup....using iphone with dock

Ok guys, I live in a condo and am using a set of Polk Audio RM6750's along with my reciever which is a Yamaha RX-V365. My question is is that I am using my 3GS along wiht a Dynex dock and the settings on my sub are about right in the middle, meaning the two dials are straight up and my sub settings on reciever are abouti 6-8 out of 10..im using the line out to rca red/white audio.. although i just bought a component to dock connector set of cables with the same red/white out that ill use today

I just wonder if im not using the best settings or hookups or something because the bass is good, but it always seems to be the problem if anything...not treble. Is it the bass, do i need a more powerful one or what would you think...i just end up turning it down on some songs....

Ill be moving to a house ina two months and am wondering about in staill in ceiling speakers etc and would want better sound so i might have to upgrade.
