I remember reading a thread that had a link about downloading TFC, Halflife, Counterstrike and other games from STEAM if you purchased an ATi card that had the Halflife2 voucher in it. Can some one find it for me please? I just purchased a AIW 9600Pro,

Thanks for the quick reply! I just ordered the AIW9600P yesterday from newegg during the sale. On the pictures they say that it comes with HL2, you think i'll get it?

Thanks for the quick reply! I just ordered the AIW9800P yesterday from newegg during the sale.
If you mean the AIW 9600p, I'd say its likely as it probably has the coupon in the box...The AIW9800p, I'd say unlikely.

Oops typo its the 9600, thnks the link you gave me confirmed this. If newegg doesn't give me one with a coupon, they will be hearing from me pretty soon at their front steps!

Thanks again!

You 'out to get 2 remotes also, RW1 in the box, and RW2 with a coupon when they are launched. The redemption doesn't require RW1 to be traded in. All in all, a GREAT deal on that card (can you tell I want one for my HTPC)

RW2

The good part is that RW2 wasn't ready for AIW 9600, so they threw in the RW1 to hold you over. RW1 is not so bad either:)

the RW2 looks tight! But doesn't it totally replace the RW1? I wonder how controlling your computer with 2 remotes work...
Is there any way i can set up windows media center edition with the ATI AIW cards? I know i can for nVidia cinema cards.

hehe, you just use 1. It replaces the RW1. Its still an $50 extra remote you can use for a different PC.

I know AIW is now certified for media center, but I hadn't seen where personal cinema has been. ATI has All-in-WonderEncode which I thought was the only software solution for media center. They also have E-Home Wonder, which is the low profile media center PCI TV tuner and FM tuner, with hardware encoding. This is all OEM stuff, and AFAIK MS isn't going to publically release Media Center, and the hardware won't be available retail.

The new HP computers are using the FX5600 Cinema vid cards. Now if MS won't release Media center publically.... ;)

You can get a FX5600, but its just the video card. The PVR is a PCI tuner, not personal cinema. AIW is the only single card media center solution. Every other solution involves a video card and a PCI hardware encoder TV tuner.
