Well I have tried the Sony Hi-MD recorder MZRH10 for about 6 months and I have to say they were horrible when it came to computer connectivity. Sonicstage declared 87 hours of my recordings as illegal after a failed transfer. I have briefly tried the iRiver IFP-795 and it was good but no support for direct mics. can be HD-based or flash based. Not much to say anymore. I have a budget of about 300 bucks.

I like that M-Audio thing. Will read up on it and see how it is. More opinions welcome. Also I forgot to mention but I also want something that I can use to replace my shuffle. Ill see if the M-Audio will solve that as well.

OK read the review and I like it. But I will have to buy a biggish card though for an extra $100-150. Thats a kick in the back for now. More ideas welcome. I checked around and found a few I liked but no built in condensor mic support, only line-in is available.
