Need help finding a good Nail Gun

Anyone know what type of Nail Guns are the best and affordable?

I need a Nail Gun for regular home use. ie. Fences/patio/speaker boxes

say around the $200 Range?

Trouble is you have at least 2 different needs there and I'm not sure that a heavy duty nailer will handle both. I have a small trim nailer and a larger nailer that will handle up to 2.5" brads but that's not enough for fences/patios.

I presume you have a decent compressor?

Yea, I have one of them giant air compressors in my garage...Is there nail guns where you can adjust the pressure? say for smaller nails or something?

I've used a paslode framing nailer a lot. It kicks ass. It uses butane cartridges to fire the nails. I'm not sure if it's in your price range or not, they sell them at lowes. Way too much for trim.

They're like $350, and if he already has a compressor the cartridges are a needless expense.

OP, you can get a framing nailer or a finish nailer, but I don't think you can get both in one nailer.

Bostich is good as well as Porter Cable.

You're going to need a couple of diffferent nail guns for what you're talking about.

I like to surf Amazon's refurbs myself.

Another option is to rent one & see if you like it.

Generally the framing nailer is limited to framing & that's the one I'd rent, and purchase a finish nailer for smaller projects.

^ This guy knows what he's talking about

Our Senco is Practically BULLET PROOF.

Never really given us any issues....

Keep in mind what you are goign to be doing, and that one gun might not do it all...

For large framing jobs you need oen, then for doors and door frames you need another, and finally a third for smalll thigns such as molding, or in your case, molding😀

Do you already havea compressor?

And I agree with Pliable Moose, for the move of Mike, rent one from Home depot...odds are you will only use it + comrpessor a few times and it will not justify the cost

I have a Porter Cable framing and a finish nailer I don't think they've ever jammed on me.

BTW-the framing nailer was probably my best deal that I've ever gotten on ebay. $23 with small crack that leaked air. I took it to work and had it welded.

Framing would probably be best for this guy since it will do msot of the medium big jobs...

Nail Gun for regular home use.

That makes no sense. Even a professional carpenter won't bother breaking out that equipment for small jobs. I did many renovations and found simple tools got the job done most of the time just fine. I could nail a couple walls together quicker than you could get the silly compressor offloaded and dialed in!
