Something that comes in a kit with everything I'm going to need to mod my case would be nice too.

I'd check out local homesupply/hardware stores. You're bound to find a good deal somewhere on a nice kit.

Checking out local stores would be easier but if your like me - somewhat isolated - then order online.

Two things I must input about the above. Those are not bad tools but I can think of two big drawbacks.

1. I don't recommend buying a rotary tool that uses rechargeable batteries - they are literally weak and the charge is depleted pretty quick. Not good for case modding uless you have lots of time or lots of cash for spare batteries. Get one with a plug.

2. I don't suggest buying a rotary tool that the rpms cannot be adjusted either. When cutting thru plastics you will need to be able to lower the rpms. 35,000 is really high for that. Get one with an rpm adjustment.

Good luck and happy modding, I got some pics in my sigs.

What about either the 29.99 or 59.99 ones listed here:
Home Depot

Are there any accessories that these kits would be lacking that I would need for basic mod work?

It doesn't look like they will let me link directly:

1. SKU #589666
2. SKU #393356

Both seem fine to me, some of the cutting tools need to be replaced after you wear them down, like "cut-off" wheels which I use for cutting the sheet metal.

I bought my dremel multipro on ebay. I also agree that cordless rotary tools suck for power and longevity. They're nice to have when you just can't run a cord, however.
