I figured... why not. People here are a varied sort of bunch, there's bound to be some sci-fi readers.
I read this series about 20 years ago and now I am trying to remember the title.
I stumbled upon it at my local library back then, but since I forgot the title, I can't find it anymore.
Now the library has changed.
If I remember correctly, the main character was a detective.
He was a basically a jack of all trades, having studied a lot but never focusing on any specific career.
The part that I'm hoping might help someone identify it for me was that his partner was an alien species that sort of resembled the human race.
Their bone structure was based on Iron, instead of Calcium.
His partner was able to go into a trance and focus a surge of strength that enabled them to rip metal doors out of their hinges, etc.
In the book, the alien once stated while he could teach the main character the trance ability, his weak bone structure wouldn't be able to handle it, because Calcium based.
I'm really hoping someone can help me with this one.
