I need help finding equivalent to 8GB (single DIMM) PC3L 12800U memory please. Right now it's 8GB and would like to make it 16GB. The PC is a brand new HP Envy 700-210xt.

The reasons I'm little worried are, "L" in PC3L, and "U" in 12800U. Does that mean low or ultra low voltage or something? "coz most/all I can find at Newegg are just PC3 12800 without L or U.

Here's pic of the actual 8GB Hynix module:

L should mean that it is a 1.35V module. U that it is Unbuffered, basically, anything that is not Buffered/Registered, which are for Servers.
Ideally, you may want to look for another identical module to yours, so, search for HMT41GU6AFR8A-PB, that is what that one is. As a Plan B, you may want to look around for modules that got the same IC that yours do, Hynix H5TC4G83AFR. If you can't find either, just pick a random 8 GB module. Other specs like matching Frequency and Voltage are pretty much optional, BIOS should automatically pick the lowest common denominator for safe operation, though it is recommended that they're as identical as possible.
For Dual Channel to work, paired modules should have the same capacity and amount of ICs, so if your module has DRAM Chips on both sides (8 on each, 16 total, called Double Sided) you need a 8 GB Double Sided module too. If I recall correctly, 8 GB Double Sided is currently the common standard, so you may not have to do research about that.

Thanks a million for in-depth reply. Since I can't find anything from "HMT41GU6AFR8A-PB" or "H5TC4G83AFR", would this be a good choice:

@ Soulkeeper

Many thanks for the reply. I'm going to buy the Crucial memory I've mentioned in my previous post.
