Hello, i know this is in the wrong forum but i need help.. EVERY TIME I INSERT A DISKETTE in my floppy, it freezes and can't open the files on it.. it asks for formatt and when i do.. it says it cant formatt it..

dont have another computer.. yesterday it did the same thing.. but today in the morning it opened them.. i forgott to format and it started giving errors again

Floppy drive is misaligned, or the drive the floppy was written on is misaligned.

If your drive is at fault, not much to do besides buy a new one.

If you just built it make sure the cable is not reversed, alot of floppy drives you can accidently hook the cable up backwards.

edit: nevermind I see you had it working this morning

how come i did it yesterday.. and i forgot to format before putting files in.. and it froze.. but today.. it was good but again i forgot to format and it keeps freezing

You forgot to burn-in the floppy drive. Pour gasoline on it, and light it up. Burn until it's covered evenly in black smoke.

Ok, seriously, take the floppy drive out and flip the floppy cable connector around, you got it plugged in upside down.

ok.. i entered a diskette.. i right click drive A.. it freezes and asks me to format when i click yes it says it cant format the diskete
