need help, failing orthos

i am at 420X8 but my system fails orthos about 1 hour into the stress test. I can run 3dmark06, superpimod 32m, and play battle field 2 for 3 hours without a problem. I am not too concerned with orthos because i can do everything on the oc except for a 6-12 hour stress test. So any ideas why it fails? it says to consult stress.txt but i dunno where that file is located.

Thanks in advance

You RAM is running at 840Mhz, and it isn't rated for that. The Corsair XMS don't overclock well lately, perhaps that is it. Loosen your memory timings and up the vDIMM to 2.1.

I think it would help more if you relax the timing. I have similar issue with Gskills ram. It works at 4 4 4 12 when running at 800 (rated). But when I up it to 840, Orthos starts to fail. I'm pretty sure CPU is not the limiting factor. I found that raising ram voltage did nothing for me. The only explanation I have is that I need to relax to 5-5-5-15

My timings were set to 5-5-5-15 not 4-4-4-12 and problems it was failing orthos, i bumped mem voltage like Roguestar suggested and it worked, thus far im 6 and half hours into orthos stress test. thanks for the help guys

btw the reason the latest 6400C4's don't clock well is because they use Promo ICs. Now Promo isn't necessarily very bad at all but compared to D9 Micron they aren't great. They will go up to 1000mhz at I think 2.1 or 2.2v so they are decent but won't go much further. and Promo's don't like voltage very much either.
