I have a problem with my DSL connection. It frequently disconnect and reconnect immediately. Has been happening for about 3 months now. As a result I can't play online games and any other use of the internet become very frustratingly annoying.

I've called Qwest tech support, all they do is list a bunch of trouble shooting step that I had already tried on my own. I asked for a technician to come and he tested the line and said it as good a line as it could be. I also asked him to give me a new modem. I had posted my problem on a Qwest forum asking for help and I've pretty much tried almost everything they suggested except hooking my modem to the NI box directly, because I don't have a laptop and doing it with my desktop computer would be complicate.

So any help would be very much appreciate. Any new idea, something new to try, anything.

I have
Qwest DSL 7168kbps/896kbps
Actiontec gt701
WinXP
nforce4 ultra board

PS. How do I disable "found new hardware wizard"?

How many dsl set filters do you have installed ? Any more than 4 is not good.
How far from the Telco Office are you ? ... Best is under 3 Miles or about 15K feet
You should have Qwest install a Whole House DSL Splitter / Filter at the point where
your telephone line enters the home .. that gets rid of the set dsl filters .. You will need
to run a cable from the DSL Output on the the DSL Filter to the DSL Modem

This will usually eliminate most dsl line problems.

I have two for the two other phone in the house.

About 4k something feet when the Qwest tech was here and he checked it with his tool.

This will usually eliminate most dsl line problems.
The Qwest tech checked the line at both the box on the side of the house and where I connected the modem. He said both were fine.

Don't connect the modem using USB. Ethernet FTW.
Oh, the modem is connected with Ethernet. I'm asking for something else because usually I uninstall drivers for graphic card or something, after I finish restarting it always ask we where the driver is so it can install it for me. I can't seem to exit that screen. I can hit cancel but the same screen pop up again. I want to install the driver on my own without Window asking me if I want to install the driver for something or not.

Do you have a home run install?

EDIT: It basically a line dedicated from the box from the telecom to the modem.

Or if you can, can you install the modem to the telecom box if it has a RJ-11 connector and see if you are still getting the dropped signals.
