need HELP!! downloaded PGP...now what?

ok, i installed it and generated keys. i sent it in to the MIT server.

now what? i understand keys and encryption to a certain degree but i dont know how to fully utilize this program.

i need to send the person decrypting a public key, i know that much, but when does signing come into play?

also, how do i distribute my public key to the intended recipients?

why did i upload my key to the MIT server?

how do i save my key so that if my PC ever crashes, i can still open documents?
