My mom called me today from her office. She does most of her work on forms on her laptop, and today her computer crashed, saying something about disk error and wouldn't boot up again - it would get stuck right after the bios but before win2k splash screen. She finally got it to go further just from repetition, but the scandisk utility said there was an image error, and she needed to restart. Dell told her to order a new harddrive, which she did, but she needs to be working right now, and she needs to get the info off of the hard disk. Is there a way to fix the problem, or take the disk out and hook it up to my comp. Are laptop harddrives compatible?? Any advice really appreciated, since she is stressed right now.
