I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey and the interior lights do not turn on in any circumstance. Actually, the front seat map lights turn on, but the 2nd row, third row and hatch lights are always off.

It's not a fuse issue as all of the interior lights are on the same fuse. It's possible the bulbs are all out, but I somehow doubt it. Any other things I am overlooking or is there just a bad connection somewhere I can't get to easily?

Help appreciated...

You've probably already checked this, and I don't know for certain how things are set up on the Odyssey, but often there is a switch that can turn the lights off entirely; maybe there's such a switch for the 2nd, 3rd, and hatch lights that has gotten bumped and just needs to be set back to let them come on when the doors open.

That switch controls all the lights and doesn't change anything whatever it is set to. Perhaps that switch is the issue...

I checked all the bulbs and they are fine.

Upon further examination, the system is as follows:

1 dashboard switch w/ 3 positions: off, door, on

2 front row dome lights
2 second row dome lights
2 third row dome lights
note - all dome lights are supposed to be turned on/off by pressing the lens

1 rear hatch light with on/door/off switch.

With the front switch in "off", all lights will be off always until individually turned on or off by depressing their lens.

With the front switch in "door", all lights will be off always until a door is opened. They will turn off 30 seconds after the doors are closed or when individually turned on or off by depressing the lens.

With the front switch in "On", all lights will come on until individually turned off by depressing the lens.

Right now all lights never turn on or off under ANY circumstances except the front row dome lights which can manually be turned on or off by depressing the lens.

Seems it would be best to check the switch first. Pop it out and get your multimeter.

Hmm, upon reading your description again I'm definitely puzzled. The fact that the dome lights don't work at all except for the fronts (and only manually) is interesting. What you need to do is find a wiring diagram. Many times a little time on google/torrent sites will net you a factory service manual. That will unlock the mystery of the lights. At this point my guess is the dash switch is probably fine.

Does the car "beep" properly when doors are open?

Problem Solved

Pulled the dash to look at the switch and it was just disconnected...

Ah well - all's well that ends well...
