Hi everyone. I am having a hard time deciding which memory I want to buy from Mushkin. The 2 choices I have are - 1GB PC3200 Level 1 Dual Pack (2x512MB)2-3-2 timings, or 1GB PC3500 Level 1 Dual Pack (2x512MB) 2-3-3 timings.
my system specs are:
Intel 2.4C 800fsb
Asus P4P800(NOT deluxe)
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
My quandry is this...the price difference between each dual pack is not very much, $3 bux I think. So therefore, price is not an issue. Which would be the best performing ram in my system? As of right now, I have no plans on overclocking, but might dabble a little in the future. But I don't want overclockability to be THE deciding factor. I want to have the fastest ram that will allow me to enable MAM, turbo mode etc...as many features as I can enable in the Bios. Would having the better 2-3-2 timings of the PC3200 dual pack give me the best chance, or would the PC3500 pack with slower 2-3-3 timings, but faster clock speed be better? Argh!!! The thing most important to me is being able to enable all of the advanced speed options(MAM etc) in the bios. I want the system to be as fast as it can(overclocking not important), but stable as well(of course). Help me decide please! Thanks.
