Hi, I'm not really sure this is the right place to post this thread but here goes..

I'm having some trouble deciding on what to do with the 100$ I put aside for a upgrade this month. Originally I was going to buy a new HDD but since a friend had 120GB IDE drive lying around he didn't use I now no longer really need a new HD all though I would still like some more GB's to play around with, to make a long story short... I'm hoping you guys could help me decide on what to do here.

My system is.

C2D E2140 OC'd to 2.16GHZ
AsRock 4CoreDual-VSTA (Supports DDRII667/533)
1GB Dual channel Kingston HyperX RAM PC3200 CL2
BFG GF7600GT OC
2 x IDE drives, one Seagate barracuda 80GB and one WD 120GB.

So, I was looking to buy some new RAM and see if I could also squeeze a small SATA drive in and still be within budget. I ended up with 2GB Kingston dual RAM PC2-5300 CL5 and a 80GB Hitachi DeskStar 7K160.
So far so good, but then I started reading about the difference between DDR, DDR2 and now I'm no longer sure the DDR2 RAM with timings 5-5-5-15 would be that much better than my current RAM, yes, I would get 2GB instead of one, but still.. would there even be a noticeable performance increase in everyday use? would it be better to forget about the SATA drive and get the fastest 667 RAM my 100$ can buy or should I just once and for all buy a 500GB SATA drive? ARGH! help plz. 😕

well you are comparing apples and oranges. If you need more HDD space then you need another hard drive. But If you dont and you just want a faster computer then buy more RAM....
