Need help deciding on which notebook to get

I'm planning on getting a notebook within the next month or so, and I'm not sure which kind I should get. I've been looking mostly at Asus models they have on newegg.com, or systems on ibuypower.com.

asus

and

ibuypower

are what I have mainly been looking at. I'm looking for a temporary desktop replacement and a decently capable gaming system, but my budget is between $1000-$1400, ideally. I'm liking ibuypower because of the prices, but I don't know how reliable they are.

But I also don't know if I should go AMD turion or Core 2 duo, 8600GT or HD2600.
I don't have much of a preference with the processor as much as the video card, and I know that theres different versions of each card, but they really don't give much information as to what type of ram they use, I know the GDDR3 is best, but all it really says is 512 or 256.

So if you could help me out with any of this stuff, I'd appreciate it.

never heard of ibuypower before but their systems are definitely cheaper with the same stuff in them compared to asus, dell or sony...I wonder why that is...

It generally has to do with the fact that they sell the same systems as the others, they just don't slap their own name onto it. Also, bear in mind that the Dell name also has the advertising dollars attached to it.
