I am looking to build a new computer mainly for dvr. I am looking at buying a Intel Pentium 4 630 processor. But I haven't decided on motherboard and ram yet.

I know DFI boards are really great for AMD systems, but how do they fare with Intel processors? Please suggests motherboard and compatible ram for Intel processor (LGA775 socket).

Requirement: It must NOT be a VIA series chipset motherboard as one of the component is not compatible with it.

Thanks.

There are a ton of good LGA775 boards. Do you want AGP or PCI-Express? If you want AGP, get a 865 chipset board like the Abit AS8 or the Asus P5P800.

If you want PCI-Express, there are a TON of boards. The newest would be the 945 chipset boards; but the 925 chipset boards are also very good (they lack dual-core support though).

DFI makes good motherboards in general, but I like Abit and Asus for the Intel platform.
