Hey guys I currently am running a 2 year old WD5000AAKS 500 gb hard drive as my boot drive. I have an older 200gb drive for storage. I would like to up my storage capacity.
I am undecided whether I should buy the WD15EADS (caviar green 1.5tb) for 109.99 and use it as a dedicated storage drive or buy the WD1001FALS (caviar black) 97.99 and use it as my storage + boot drive. I would still keep my old hard drives for storage as well.
Looking on Toms hardware the read/write times of the caviar green seem as fast as the black. Would it be possible to run the green as my boot drive? Is there a better option out there for me? I have to admit I would like to get into the 1.5tb range if possible.
Any info would be great. I am open to other hard drives as well as I have read some of the spinpoints are nice too.
