Hey guys,
This is the system I'm planning on building but I havent decided on case and cooling. Any suggestions? I'd like to keep this as quite as possible as it i will be sleeping quite close to it (dorm rooms, what can you say eh? ) Also, price should be "reasonable"... ie, not more than 100 or 150 max

1.2 GHz Thunderbird (266 mhz)
Asus A7M266 DDR SDRAM Socket A Mobo
256 mb 2100 DDR Ram
Cooler/heatsink - Undecided
Video Card - GeForce3
Sound Card - Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! value
NIC - Linksys or something similar
HD - Undecided... probably a 60.1 Gig (IBM?)
DVD - Undecided ... <$150
CD-RW - Unsure... perhaps the plextor

For your heatsink i would recommend a Taisol CGK742 or if you can wait 3 weeks for the copper embeded version of it the CGK760. Mod it with a quiet 80mm fan..you can find a bunch of fans specs here at my page. In a few days i'll be writing a short article how this can be done.

If theres anyone out there with a used bare heatsink CGK742 there not using, or they had problems fitting it on there board..gimme a ring im interested in buying it from you.

get an antec sx1030
thats what i got coolin my baby, its works well, extremely roomy
should be more than enough room for all your needs just add all the 80mm fans and u should be fine

Ugh, these shipping and handleing prices are going to kill me! New request... Can somone point me to a place where I can get a decent case,fan/heatsink combo for a 1.2 thunderbird 233 thats quite, and a nice case fan or two (again, quiet).... i'd really appreciate this!!
