My choices are between the Samsung HL-T4675S and the Sony KDF-46E2000.

Both are 46" (because the size of my room, tho I think 50" is acceptable at a 8 ft distance) and DLP HDTV. Now can anybody tell me the differences between the two and which would make a better buy if price wasn't an issue? (Both are around $900, so no big difference)

Now my other choice is a LG plasma TV around the same price (refurbished, tho good quality from a local LG factory) It's a LG 50PC3D I believe.

I need to make the purchase soon, and any comments are welcomed! Help me decide! Thank you!

LG's are extremely nice. ..but really, your best bet is to go down to your local Best Buy, etc. and check them out. No one can tell you what you like! It is much too personal a decision.

I don't really like DLPs but Samsung > Sony. Personally I'd go with the LG plasma.

I've got a different Samsung set, the HL-S5679W LED DLP, and while mostly great, has some color banding issues and does not connect to a computer easily (1920x1200 resolution on the vga input resized to 16:9 AR, or significant overscan on the hdmi input). I've got one of last year's models. They might be corrected in the HLT series. Just something to watch out for.

Otherwise, unfortunately Best Buy is not a good place to compare models. At least at the one near me, they play the worst demo video, it's like a very low-bitrate mpeg video they play to each tv.

Thanks guys.

I decided to go with the Samsung.

Ordered on Amazon for $860 shipped and I bought the 2 year protection plan for $60. Although I heard it doesn't cover the light bulbs...so that's a let down, but I still think I got a good deal.

FYI, that Sony isn't DLP, it's 3LCD. I think you made the right choice. Believe it or not I paid $2200 for a 720p Samsung 50" set just over a year and a half ago - sigh . . .

Yeah, I paid close to $3K a couple years back for the Samsung pedestal DLP. Damn it.

The problem with going down to your local BB, is a lot of the time they crank the brightness and contrast to meet their lighting conditions . I don't always think they are doing the customer favors, just their bottom line...

Be studious of the situation...
