Let me get your opinions.....

I'd buy an Ultra Microfly instead of X-QPack, and would pick an A64 over a Presshot.

For the SFF, a Biostar TForce 6100-939 socket 939, Zalman 7000 HSF, Seasonic S12 PSU, 1-2 GB of Crucial DDR, and a 7600GT.

But you don't tell us what you're going to do with the system so it's hard to fine-tune recommendations.

These are two systems that people on both AT and are selling and I'm interested in with my budget of $400 for a gaming PC

The AMD is more future-proof since it has PCI-E and the 3500+ is fast enough to drive a 7900GT.

The P4 will keep you warm in the winter and has a better motherboard.

The one w/ the PCI-E video card. AGP video card, are you serious? But then again, you're screwed either way. S939 or AGP has no future. At least w/ the PCI-E you can maybe upgrade to a better video card in the future.

the desktop
1) PCIe vs AGP - you can still get really fast CPUs for s939 but AGP is long dead so there won't be any upgrading there. There is still some upgrade room left with s939.
2) Unless you need your comp to be the only heat source Presshot isn't the best CPU.
3) desktop case allows more room to grow

only reason why I'd get the SFF is because of the mobo - I do not like ECS mobos but if my choice was between those two I'd live with it.
