Need Help: CPU Performance being limited by something

I just upgraded to and overclocked an XP Barton 3000+ (333fsb) cpu and it's definitely not performing as well as it should. I have it running rock stable at 2.41ghz (13x185.5) on an MSI KT3 Ultra2 (KT333 chipset) with 1gig pc2700 ram (2.5-3-3-6) and a Geforce 6800gt (overclocked to above default Ultra speeds @ 415/1.14).

My Doom3 timedemo's are limited to 55fps no matter what setting I use...640x480 low quality to 1600x1200 ultra quality (vsync is off).

My CPU scores in 3dmark03 are waaay low and my overall scores in 3dmark01 are low too.
Here's the compare links
3DMark 2001 = 16875: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8036410
3DMark 2003 = 11353: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2920909

My overall 3dmark03 score is good though, so the 6800GT is definitely doing it's job...it's the CPU that's not up to par.

I've seen comparisons with people using Athlon XP's at 2.2ghz and less with higher CPU scores in 3dmark03...even when they're using a lower fsb.

Every Doom3 benchmark guide I've seen with similar cpus have much higher cpu bottlenecks.
My framerates are lower in other games too (observed by Fraps) but I haven't done any other benchmarks.

Also, the sisoft sandra tests show my cpu performing better than an xp3200+ in all tests.
CPU Arithmetic: ALU 10080 MIPS, FPU 3823 MFLOPS
CPU Multimedia: Integer 22862 it/s, Floating-Point 24369 it/s

So what's going on here?

I've done 2 formats, made sure latest chipset (Hyperion 4.51), directx (9.0c), nvidia drivers (61.77) were installed.
Checked every bios setting I have at least 20 times.
Checked video card settings (vsync, aa/af all off).
Tried running everything at default clocks and under clocked and that just results in lower scores.
Tried changing the memory timings.
All my temps are normal.

So what's limiting my performance? It's driving me crazy!

I dunno... have you checked that you installed the Mobo GART drivers...............Check if AGP is listed under system devices in the device manager..

Thanks for the replies...
I figured it had to be my motherboard because I tried everything else, so I went out last night and bought a DFI ultra infinity Nforce2 motheboard.

Wow, what a difference...plus I was able to overclock my cpu to 2536mhz (13x194fsb).
I only ran 3dmark2001 because my temps started getting too high using this $8 hs/fan (which held up fine until I went past 185fsb).

My 3dmark2k1 score instantly went up to 19239: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8039190

I still have some tweaking to do because I couldn't get doom3 past 65fps @ 1024x768 medium quality, but it's definitely a lot better.

I'm buying a new hs/fan tonight and I'm gonna see how far I can push this thing :)

Next up, buy low latency DDR 400 like Crucial Ballistix memory.
65fps is nice! As long as your minimum fps is over 30 you should be very fine, until of course you get mauled by hell
