just bought a panasonic 42" edtv. i've got a regular digital cable box and hooked it up with the coax cable but it doesn't seem that sharp in comparison to viewing it in-store. should i be using different cables such as s-video & audio? or is there special video cables i need to purchase to bump up the quality? do i need to get a hd cable box? thanks in advance for any feedback.

I would try to get a HD cable box, and hook it up to your TV using component, HDMI, or DVI cables. This way the TV will downconvert the HD signals into 480p. S-video only supports up to 480i as far as I know.
